On becoming a Teacher

Every teacher dedicates their entire life to teaching for reasons that are as unique to individuals as any other aspect of who they are. However, it isn't typically the income or the summer break. There are deeper motivations for becoming a teacher than that. Almost all teachers have the desire to have an impact on people, despite the fact that each person's motivations are different.

Honestly, being a teacher is not my passion. When I was still in high school, I never thought of being a teacher because my own views to educators are sometimes barely sleeping at night, lack of time with their families, stress over paperwork in school, and all. Not that I'm discouraging those people who really are passionate about teaching, it's just that I just don't like it that way. (Not that I want a job that lies down in bed all the time but if that job exists that is a must to try, I guess. Joke! haha).

My truly dream job is to become a Flight Attendant. I want to travel around the world. Interact with people with different views in life and of course, to challenge and discover a lot of things throughout my journey. But I guess some things are really hard to control. Sometimes you need to choose practicality over passion, so I did.

I have had a lot of things to improve seriously, from how I speak in front of crowded places to organizing work from school and home. It really makes sense, "Kung saan pa ako mahina, doon pa ang bagsak ko" indeed. I really am glossophobia or has a fear of public speaking since back when I was still in elementary. I really despise oral recitations but I'm at school to learn, what do I expect? But surely God has something up with me. Although, He witnessed my breakdowns whenever I disappoint myself. He witnessed me crying in my room and tried asking him if should I give up on everything. I know God had prepared something good for me in the future. He never fails to amaze me and that is something I will look up in my next forward.

To summarize it all up, becoming a teacher is not an easy job, especially that we are handling elementary pupils. But with utmost dedication, I will impart my knowledge in a way that everyone will understand and go home in their houses with a learning they can apply in their daily lives. A teacher is not "only a teacher" but they hold a vital role in every goal and dream of a student.
